Terms of Service

Last updated: January 1, 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By applying for membership, registering for events, or using the website of TIA — Travel Industry Association of Florida ("TIA", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not access our services or become a member. These terms apply to all members, event attendees, and website visitors.

2. Membership

2.1 Eligibility. TIA membership is open to licensed travel advisors/consultants, travel agencies, and travel industry partners operating within or serving Florida. Membership is subject to review and approval by TIA's membership committee.

2.2 Credentials. Travel Advisor members must hold a valid IATA, CLIA, or TRUE credential. You are required to provide accurate credential information and a valid photo ID at the time of application. Submission of false or expired credentials will result in immediate membership termination without refund.

2.3 Annual Dues. Membership is annual and requires payment of applicable dues plus any credit card processing fees. Dues are non-refundable once membership has been approved and activated.

2.4 Renewal. Members are responsible for renewing their membership annually prior to expiration. TIA reserves the right to modify membership dues with reasonable advance notice.

2.5 Industry Partners. Industry Partner membership is limited to two (2) representatives per company. Additional representatives may be added for the applicable fee. Industry Partners are not eligible for FAM trip prizes or subsidized FAM trip participation.

3. Events and Cancellation Policy

3.1 Registration. Event registration is confirmed upon receipt of payment. Seats are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

3.2 Cancellation. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@tiaflorida.org at least 48 hours before the event to receive a refund or credit. Cancellations received less than 48 hours before the event, or no-shows, are non-refundable.

3.3 FAM Trips. FAM trip participation is subject to a separate FAM Trip Policy, which participants must read and acknowledge. FAM trips are a privilege of Travel Advisor membership and are not available to Industry Partners.

3.4 TIA Event Cancellation. TIA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events due to insufficient registration, venue issues, force majeure, or other circumstances. In such cases, registered participants will receive a full refund or credit toward a future event.

4. Code of Conduct

All TIA members and event participants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully. The following behaviors are grounds for immediate removal from events and/or membership termination:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
  • Misrepresentation of credentials, business, or professional capacity
  • Conduct that brings TIA into disrepute
  • Unauthorized solicitation or marketing at TIA events
  • Violation of any applicable laws or regulations

5. Intellectual Property

The TIA name, logo, and all content on this website — including text, graphics, images, and educational materials — are the property of TIA and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use TIA branding or content without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial purposes related to your membership.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

TIA's website and services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted or error-free. TIA does not endorse any specific travel products, suppliers, or services mentioned in connection with membership activities, unless explicitly stated.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TIA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your membership, event participation, or use of our website. TIA's total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount of membership dues paid by you in the preceding 12 months.

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

9. Modifications

TIA reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by email to active members or by posting a notice on our website.
